After the first few weeks of lockdown I was really missing the creativity of working with other wedding suppliers on styled shoots, and with my 2020 brides sadly having to postpone their weddings I was looking for some ideas to create new and fun content during this time.
Prior to lockdown I had an epic shoot planned with Salsabil Morrison. I had been such a fan of her work for ages and was so looking forward to finally getting to work with her. Sadly that shoot had to be cancelled last minute but I’m hoping we can still go ahead later in the summer.
We continued chatting over Instagram and when she came up with the idea for this Facetime shoot I was so excited to get to connect and collaborate! Salsabil had worked with our amazing model Lita Garcia before and so knew she would be the perfect fit to add some creativity and fun to the shoot. Lita created this incredible backdrop in her kitchen and I was totally blown away! I sent her a selection of dresses to try and she picked 2 to shoot.
I love how Salsabil captured everything and that this is not your stereotypical bridal shoot, which mirrors the non-traditional dresses.
I was so happy we made this work and amazed at what could be done with such limited space and zero contact! The vintage, grainy quality adds to the mood and the set will serve as a beautiful reminder of these crazy times we are in.
For this shoot we choose to shoot 2 dresses from my Cornucopia collection, which is a series of one off dresses made in reclaimed vintage laces, fabrics and trims. At the core of my ethos is to reuse, reduce and recycle and I love this range to offer brides sustainable but cool options for their wedding day.
